Emily Shearer is an ex-pat poet, mom, and Registered Yoga Teacher living outside Houston, TX. She teaches Yoga for Writers workshops and practices persistence. Her poems have been nominated for a Pushcart, shortlisted for the McCabe Poetry Prize and published in Ruminate, the bookends review, Crow Hollow Books, The Tishman Review, stirring, and All We Can Hold: poems about motherhood, among others, including the inaugural issue of Minerva Rising, where she now serves as the Poetry Editor. Of her job, she says, “I call myself a poetry midwife. The writers I work with bear these poems inside their bodies, and nothing gives me more pride and joy than seeing then come forth into the world.” She has been known to utter the occasional swear word, bake a mean pan of brownies, trust the Universe and blog about it at https://www.bohemilywrites.net.
