It’s been way too cold to go outside and make pictures, so I’ve been struggling for inspiration. I keep daring myself to find a photo project within my house, but my house does not look like an episode on HGTV. Those houses probably don’t look like an episode of HGTV after the cameras stop rolling either. What’s a inspiration-less, home-bound photographer to do? Focus on the details–nail holes in walls, wood grain in doors, knobs on appliances, fabric on furniture. Simple right? Nope, not really. Focusing on details of a thing is much harder than it looks. Do you know how hard it is to make fireplace brick look interesting?  But I gave it my best shot without too much judgement. I think I’ll make this a regular challenge and see what develops.
