This year’s contest seeks chapbook-length works of poetry that dare: dare to invoke change, dare to be vulnerable, dare to challenge, dare to be.

Emily Patterson (she/her) received her B.A. in English from Ohio Wesleyan University, where she was awarded the F.L. Hunt Prize and Marie Drennan Prize for Poetry, and her M.A. in Education from The Ohio State University. Her chapbook So Much Tending Remains, chronicling the first year of motherhood, will be available from Kelsay Books in September 2022. Emily’s work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and appears in several anthologies. Her poems are published or forthcoming in Rust and Moth, Mom Egg Review, The Sunlight Press, Literary Mama, Sheila-Na-Gig, The Mum Poem Press, Sky Island Journal, Thimble Literary Magazine, Mothers Always Write, Anti-Heroin Chic, A-Minor Magazine, and elsewhere.
