Memoir Contest

The memoirists stress the subjective nature of reportage. Doubt and wonder come to stand as part of the story.
— Mary Karr, The Art of Memoir

We come into this world naked and shocked to be here. What has happened to you since that moment and how you feel about it is what makes your story. What decisions brought you to where you are now? Who or what were your influences, your nemeses, your angels, and protectors?

We want to read your honest, intimate, and compelling story. And we want to be awed by your mastery of narrative. Creative nonfiction, multi-genre, hybrid text are all welcome. We’re interested in stories by all women, and encourage women of color and women who feel marginalized to submit.
