JESSICA CIOSEK
As Socrates once said, “the unexamined life is not worth living” and that may very well be my motto. I write to understand. I believe great stories help us fathom one another and build a more empathic, compassionate world. And I believe that the stories of women too often go untold. That is why journals like Minerva Rising are essential.
My debut historical novel, Sometimes a Soldier Comes Home, was published in September 2021. I am currently pursuing my MFA at Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY. A born Midwesterner, I’ve lived in NYC for over half my life. When not writing, I love to run along the mighty Hudson River, bike on the vast rail-to-trails network in the Northeast, read, solve puzzles of all kinds and take photos of my beloved city.
