My first AWP…all I can say is wow (and maybe whew)! As the non-writer of Minerva Rising I had no idea what I was in for–the number of writers out there in the world, the variety of writing topics to fill so many panels, the bravery of reading your work to an audience, the number of MFA programs, and the talent. The list goes on and on. While eye-opening and awe-inspiring, the experience was also a little overwhelming with so much information to process from the panels I attended to learning about our wonderful contributors and readers who stopped by our table for chat.
I just needed a little “me time” to get back to center, so I went for short walk and scoped out a little out of the way place to eat. I wound up at Lecosha. As I write this post couple of weeks later, I don’t remember my entree, but I do remember the delectable house-made sausage I had as an appetizer, yum! And the restaurant’s location was so pretty with steps with built-in water fountains leading down to the water front. I couldn’t help but snap this picture with my phone.
